The generator test procedure
The first step: check the generator outside the wire connecting part has been disconnected, misconnection, short circuit phenomenon, and with the voltmeter to measure the B+ has no battery voltage.
The second step: the key door down with the "open" position, but do not start the engine, this time with the voltmeter to measure the D+ has no voltage, charging indicator light is bright and observation.
The third step: start the engine, using a voltmeter measurement of engine B+ voltage, should meet the following numerical 12V system voltage is more than 13V at the same time, addition and subtraction throttle system voltage 24V voltage is more than 27V a little change in 0.1 ~ 0.2V
The fourth step: open the part load, such as the 12V lamp system voltage is more than 13V at the same time, addition and subtraction throttle system voltage 24V voltage is more than 27V a moderate degree change in 0.2 ~ 0.4V
The fifth step: open air conditioning, lights and other main electric 12V system voltage is more than 13V at the same time, addition and subtraction throttle system voltage 24V voltage is more than 27V to a great extent changes from 0.5 to 1V
To the third step, the generator has no voltage output, can take the following measures to check, for generating excitation point D+ generators such as the 27 series, 23 series, 29 series, 19 series from the battery anode lead a 2.5mm2 wire, after starting the engine, the other end with instant click point D+ (time less than 1S), then voltmeter to measure the B+ has no voltage output, if any, check to fifth steps from the beginning of the third step, at the same time, judge the vehicle charging indicator light circuit open circuit phenomenon (usually indicating lamp is damaged, the dashboard rod connector is loose, the circuit breaker), if no voltage output, it does not exist power generator fault.
